REMEMBERING FARRAH FAWCETT
I was at the same cancer clinic in Bavaria, Germany that Farrah Fawcett was in on her final visit there. For part of the three weeks I was there, I had the room next to Farrah, but I never saw her once. I knew her slightly from Hollywood days and as the companion of Ryan O'Neal, whom I have known for years. It was her fourth or fifth visit to the clinic, and she was beloved there. She knew I was next door, and I sent her DVD's of my television series.and Academy screeners of the latest films. She loved the episode of my series about the famous Von Bulow case. She thought Claus was innocent. She was still making the documentary that showed so successfully on NBC. Alana Hamilton Stewart, the ex of George Hamilton and the ex of Rod Stewart, was there with her, serving as director of the documentary and best, closest, true friend of Farrah. I have such enormous admiration for Farrah. She wanted to live so badly. She fought so hard. She was magnificent. I think her film is a valuable document. It shows what it's like to have cancer. I was going to be on a Larry King show about Farrah, but I got cancelled out at the last minute because Michael Jackson had died, and the program for Farrah did not take place. She deserved a show. She was one brave lady.

MORE TREATMENT IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
I spent last weekend in the Dominican Republic. This time I went by myself - usually I take somebody with me. The airport business tired me out. They're exhausting anyway but especially when you're not feeling well. Now I feel great. Every time I have another treatment I am glad that I do.

BACK TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
I am returning to the Dominican Republic this Friday for further stem cell treatment. It always makes me feel so much better. I was so sad to learn of Farrah Fawcett's passing earlier today. She was being treated in Germany while I was at the same stem cell clinic.

DVD LAUNCH
I had a great time at the Borders launch last night. I met some interesting people. The television mini series of my book, "The Two Mrs. Grenvilles" came up. Claudette Colbert was cast as the older Mrs. Grenville, but at that time some of the older ladies in Hollywood really fought over that part. Years later I was in London and Ginger Rogers was at the same hotel, promoting her autobiography. I saw her in the lift. She didn't recognize me at first and a few minutes later a copy of her book was delivered to my door. In it she had written: "Dear Dominick, I didn't recognize you in the lift before and my assistant told me who you were. I should have played Mrs. Grenville!" It is one of my treasured books.

WORKING HARD
I am still working hard on edits to my novel, with two editors who are tough and smart. It's going well though. I have also been giving interviews all day today to publicize the release of the DVD about my life - Dominick Dunne: After the Party. It is on sale now at Borders and I will be signing copies next Monday night, 22nd June, at Borders Columbus Circle.

STILL WORKING ON MY BOOK
The publisher is being tough on me and I am working hard on edits to my novel, A Solo Act. I'm due back in Vanity Fair in the September issue, when I will write about my stem cell treatment experience in Germany and the Dominican Republic. I'm also excited about the launch of Dominick Dunne: After the Party - the documentary about my life - that is at Borders, Columbus Circle here in New York, on June 22nd at 7pm.

WORKING ON A FEW CHANGES TO MY BOOK
I realise I haven't updated with my news for a while. I am really busy working on a few edits of my next novel, A Solo Act, that my publisher is keen for me to do. I don't know the release date yet but I'm working hard. It shouldn't be too far away.

SINS OF THE SONS
I have had a few questions about a book I might have written based on the Menendez brothers, entitled Sins of the Sons. I never did write such a book, though it would have been interesting to further explore that case. I wrote to Eric once - I really wanted to meet with him and hear his side of the story. He never replied.

MORE STEM CELL
I am going back to the Dominican Republic this weekend for another stem cell treatment, which I am delighted about. I am only there for two nights and then back to New York. I am working on a follow-up piece for Vanity Fair about Phil Spector's conviction. I have heard a bit about what's been going on: Phil's wife, Rachelle Spector, is staying in the castle but nobody knows if there is any money left.

PHIL SPECTOR FOUND GUILTY
I am happy that Phil Spector was found guilty of second degree murder. There was always the risk that, as a celebrity, there would be another hung jury, and the jury deliberated for some time before arriving at this verdict. Second degree murder, which was the most serious charge possible for the jury to return with, carries a non-parole period of eighteen years, which is effectively the rest of Spector's life. The sentencing is not until May 25th but Spector was handcuffed in the courtroom and taken away. It must be a comfort to Lana Clarkson, his victim's, family, that this result has come through.

Hi Dominick, I just finished reading Another City, Not My Own today. I didn't think I'd like it because I was one of the people who was "sick to death of hearing about OJ" LOL Needless to say, I loved it ! Well, except for the ending. I didn't want Gus Bailey to die :-( I have read all of your books except for The Winners, which I can't seem to find. I am looking forward to watching After The Party. Good luck in the Dominican Repubic. I really enjoy this site and your blogs.
